Before you start
Create a verified backup before merging records.
Steps
- Open Data Tools → Duplicates or Data Quality and inspect the proposed issues.
- Compare full names, contact methods and linked records; similar names alone are not proof of duplication.
- For a merge, choose the surviving record and review field choices and relationship changes.
- Confirm only after the preview is correct, then inspect the surviving record and its relationships.
Check the result
Restoring a removed record from Trash is not an undo of a merge. Stop and seek support if the intended survivor or associations are unclear.
